• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Utopia Backrest

Has any one purchased the Quick release option for the Utopia backrest? I'm not sure if you even need it. Thanks, Bob :dontknow:

Haven't seen the need for it. It leans down towards the ryder's seat and gives the passanger pleanty of room to straddle in.;)

Had my Utopia backrest for a year now and haven't seen any need for it. I do adjust on the fly sometimes but never want to remove it.

An Option to consider

I replaced the OEM bolt that secures the backrest to the base plate with a ball lock quick release pin of the same shaft diameter and length. Since I throw a sheepskin over the entire seat in the summer, it is important for me to be able to easily remove and replace the backrest when I plan on using the seat cover. I also remove the backrest on occasion when I want to carry something behind me on the seat.

The pin costs a few bucks at a hardware store and I have used this system on my Utopia backrests for my last two installs. It is an inexpensive option to the purchase of the Utopia quick release bracket.
