• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Utah Trip

Well we just completed our trip to Colorado and Utah, a little over 5,000 miles in two weeks and the Spyder performed flawlessly.
Towing the camper trailer up a 7 mile grade in 5th gear full throttle to maintain speed at 104 degrees and the temp gauge never went over 1/2 way.
WHAT A MACHINE!!
Here are a couple of pics of the trip.
Less than one year old and almost 16,000 trouble free miles.

Somehow have an attached thumbnail that is upside down and can't delete it. Sorry

Great pic's

Sounds like a great trip especially getting home safe and sound. Great to hear about the preformace of your spyder. Need more stories like yours. Thanks for that and the great pictures...even the upside down one ..does require walking around the table...:roflblack:

Sorry about that.

I found out on this trip that Asian people are intrigued by the Spyder. We must have had hundreds of pics taken of it, and several ask if they could stand next to it or hang onto the handlebar while having their pic taken.

We counted a total of 11 other Spyders on the trip including the one seen in the attached pic in CO.

There was only one person that gave us any negative feedback on the Spyder. A guy got out of his truck, walked up to me and said "I didn't think those things could get any uglier, but your trailer made it that way". I responded by saying that I thought the same thing about him and his truck. His mouth fell open and he turned and walked into the gas station.
When he came back out he started asking a few questions like "how is it in the corners"? I told him it was great in the corners. He said he had a Harley trike and didn't like it in the corners because he felt he was going to tip over every time he took one.
I told him " that is because a Harley trike is s copy of the design of a kids tricycle, when you turn a corner on one you are transferring the load to an area in front where there isn't any support. On a Spyder when you turn a corner you are transferring the load to the outside wheel making it much more stable." Then I couldn't help myself, I said "when you grow up you buy one of these".
At this point we had our helmets on and were backing up to leave. As we pulled out he hollered at us "My sea-do has a rotax engine in it." I informed him that it was made by the same company.

Life on a Spyder is great!

Utah is one of my favorite vacation states. Lots of scenery, National, and State Parks. Glad to hear your experience was also enjoyable.
