First I want to say the truck bed liner looks as good today as it did, when I painted my Spyder!
It is with a heavy heart that I post this message. As many of you know I have MS, but I've been missing for a while so maybe not. The MS Fatigue has gotten to the point that I no longer feel safe riding Stealth Billie and I am having some cognitive issues. My reactions are not where they should be and I just don't have the energy to function most days. Last summer she sat in garage and only got taken out once, so I've decided that instead of letting her be neglected, we are selling Stealth Billie. Believe it or not, the lady that responded to my Craigslist ad lives right up the street from me. I of course have directed her to Spyder Lovers, for guidance on how to ride and to get know the Spyder community. Y'all are awesome!
The good news is last September they finally restored my vision and I can see again. They repaired the damage to the optic nerve and replaced my lens with a new one! I had 7 hours of cognitive testing done last week and when the results come back the decision will be made of whether I can keep working or if I am going out on disability. We knew this day was coming so last year I opened an online store on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/DerBayzVintage) so that I can try and supplement the disability payments and not cripple my family. I mostly sell vintage and antiques, but I have been playing with 3D printing also and am trying to create new products.
What most of you don't know, other than Bob, is that 2 and 1/2 years ago, when I disappeared, we received emergency custody of my step-daughter. She had apparently suffered from years of abuse from her mother and we were unaware. All of my attention was diverted to her and helping her deal with the traumas that she experienced.
As for little Bytemi, I have to tell yall, OMG you would not believe that she is the same child. She is a straight A student, playing softball and a member of the Robotics team at school. Too top that off she has been invited to attend Robotics classes this summer at the local college. She will be studying with the 3rd best robotics team in the world! At the last competition, the judges were so impressed with her and her ability to think quickly, lead the team and solve problems that I got an email inviting her to college! My 11 year old baby is going to college for the summer! For everyone that helped her with vision therapy, thank you, and you should be as proud as I am to have helped this child succeed in ways we didn't know were possible. It is simply amazing!
So thats the update. Thank you all for everything and I hope that I can continue being a member of the forum even if I don't own a Spyder any more!
