• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Update on Bytemi and Little Bytemi

First I want to say the truck bed liner looks as good today as it did, when I painted my Spyder!

It is with a heavy heart that I post this message. As many of you know I have MS, but I've been missing for a while so maybe not. The MS Fatigue has gotten to the point that I no longer feel safe riding Stealth Billie and I am having some cognitive issues. My reactions are not where they should be and I just don't have the energy to function most days. Last summer she sat in garage and only got taken out once, so I've decided that instead of letting her be neglected, we are selling Stealth Billie. Believe it or not, the lady that responded to my Craigslist ad lives right up the street from me. I of course have directed her to Spyder Lovers, for guidance on how to ride and to get know the Spyder community. Y'all are awesome!

The good news is last September they finally restored my vision and I can see again. They repaired the damage to the optic nerve and replaced my lens with a new one! I had 7 hours of cognitive testing done last week and when the results come back the decision will be made of whether I can keep working or if I am going out on disability. We knew this day was coming so last year I opened an online store on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/DerBayzVintage) so that I can try and supplement the disability payments and not cripple my family. I mostly sell vintage and antiques, but I have been playing with 3D printing also and am trying to create new products.

What most of you don't know, other than Bob, is that 2 and 1/2 years ago, when I disappeared, we received emergency custody of my step-daughter. She had apparently suffered from years of abuse from her mother and we were unaware. All of my attention was diverted to her and helping her deal with the traumas that she experienced.

As for little Bytemi, I have to tell yall, OMG you would not believe that she is the same child. She is a straight A student, playing softball and a member of the Robotics team at school. Too top that off she has been invited to attend Robotics classes this summer at the local college. She will be studying with the 3rd best robotics team in the world! At the last competition, the judges were so impressed with her and her ability to think quickly, lead the team and solve problems that I got an email inviting her to college! My 11 year old baby is going to college for the summer! For everyone that helped her with vision therapy, thank you, and you should be as proud as I am to have helped this child succeed in ways we didn't know were possible. It is simply amazing!

So thats the update. Thank you all for everything and I hope that I can continue being a member of the forum even if I don't own a Spyder any more!

Adele,
It is SOOOO good to hear from you; even if not all of the news is great...
Stick around with us for as long as you can... you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers!

Hi Bob,

I knew you would be the first to reply. Thank you.

Good to hear from you again. I no you don't know me but I have followed your journey through this difficult time.

Glad to hear about the good going on right now. As for the bad, keep up your inner strength and you will see it through.

Just because you are selling the Spyder does not mean you can't hang around here. Once a Spyderlover always a Spyderlover.

I figure I am going to have a lot of time on my hands if they take me out of work, so I can just sit and stalk the boards.

I'm sorry about your health problems. I hope I won't have too great effect on raising your step daughter. How old is she? I'm sure you'll be a blessing to her.

She is 17 now, will be turning 18 in July at which point she has asked me to adopt her. I have always said there is a different between a Mother and a Mom. Anyone can be a Mother, but a Mom is the person who loves you and supports you no matter what. I've never at a Mom, so I understand the adoption request and am happy to do it!

Thank you for the update. Have thought about you a few times. It is always sad when a friend disappears from the site.

As others have said, hang in there. You are always welcome here.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. Hope you continue to enjoy life, and Motherhood.  Tom :spyder:

Thanks for updating us! Prayers are with you through the tough times, and so happy to hear about your step daughters progress. Please stay around the forum, as said by Bob, it is called Spyderlovers!:doorag:;)
