• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

UPDATE: CA Motorcycle License Law

Thanks everyone for your input. Here is the latest.
 DMV in Sacramento says: No motorcycle license is required for 3 wheelers (which I already knew). But...to check with the Highway Patrol to see if they are stopping 3 wheelers checking for motorcycle licenses.) Hwy Patrol says they only enforce laws...man in charge of this out until tomorrow. I called State Farm again and said I was concerned that my ins. co. underwriting department was not knowledgeable about CA laws. Eureka Ins. co. called underwriting and again told them that Can-Am Spyders are not required under CA laws to have a motorcycle license - (and probably what I already said about them not being knowledgeable in CA license laws) - so State Farm Underwriting has RETRACTED their letter and made a note of the same. We have cancelled our classes...$500.00 worth.
Also: May it be noted: There are no other motorcycle classes in this area. We are on the edge of nowhere and there is only two small (very) motorcycle shops in this area with H.D. being the big one. Our colleges do not offer any classes. Redding might be closer at 140 miles away with major highway construction and long waits to get through the mountains - 4 hour trip each way + right now. And it is very hot over there. With Frank always possibly getting called to fires...not possible to attend anywhere else. We already know how to ride 2 wheelers very well but have no interest in going back to them from our Spyders.
So the problem is solved until DMV changes its laws - which is in the works already according to my daughter-in-law who works in Sac DMV office and is who the DMV managers go to for advice.
Thanks again, everyone! :D

Would not surprise me for a moment. Last direct involvement with something like this was back in the 70's. When lobbyist for BRAND X went after the Moped industry. Didn't take them long to buy the Sacramento votes they needed, and with that accomplished, they cut the throat of those who were in the Moped import, wholesale, and retail business.

Lesson learned and one I'm sure BRP is ready for. Don't mess with the customer base of the long established motorcycle company's.

Good news..!!

thanks for the update..will make a lot of nervous folks here happy. One of the attractions is you don't need the motorcycle license to operate a spyder. (drivers license suffices ) may hurt sales some if they change that...
