• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Unhappy Campers

I will bet the driver will think twice about pulling out to pass after that incident. Hope no one was riding in the trailer. :yikes:

Seriously..!!

They did not notice/or feel the fish tailing..!! :banghead: that was totally avoidable but you are absolutely right...they are not happy campers... hope it was empty..

Classic case of the "tail wagging the dog". Couldn't tell if he had a proper weight distribution hitch with anti sway or not. Could have had a tire going down on the tt. Hard to tell exactly what caused it. Either way one unhappy camper...

This didn't need to happen...
A tap on the brake-controller, and it would have things safely back under control...
How do these people learn to drive, without learning something as basic as that?? :dontknow:

Simple. He caught the wind coming off the road tractor compounded by excessive speed, no tongue load stabilizer, and poor towing skills. I also noticed that the 20# LP bottles were not secured in the rear rack.

Fix: Slow down as soon as it starts to go wonky.
Gradual brake pressure.
Towing lessons.

I have seen so many times on interstates people towing campers, utility trailers, cars on dollies, that don't have them properly loaded or attached. Several years ago I was behind one of those high dollar Class A diesel pushers on I95. He was pulling a 20 foot matching enclosed trailer. When I got up beside him I noticed the safety chains weren't connected to the hitch and the power cable was not looped and dragging the ground. I finally got his attention and got him to pull over on an off ramp. I wrapped the worn cable in electrical tape, looped it so it wouldn't drag and connected the chains. He said he didn't hook up the trailer, it was done for him by the dealer. I told him he should have at least checked it before getting on the road. I asked him how long he had been driving one of those setups. This was his first Class A. He had been driving a Class C but never towed anything.

That is what I saw also bruiser. That exact thing happened to me several times going to Spyderfest 2013. It was a crazy strong cross wind and every time I would pass a semi it would throw me hard to the left. In those conditions you want to pass the semi at a slow pace, don't just blow past it, that will get you in trouble quick. One other thing a lot of people do not realize. The ST tires that come on most trailers are only rated at 65 mph.
