Ultimate Seats installed

I installed two sets of the Ultimate seats on our machines today. Lots of great advice on here. I also made a video with the help of my son - if it looks OK I will post it. First seat set took about an hour. The second was about 35 minutes other than staging for the video. The twist ratchet is a MUST whether you use the Stanley or buy the one that Lowes sell which is what I did. Here is the pics of the two machines. The Aluminum seat on the blue machine is a tall-boy, the brown set is the regular style seat. Difference in feel on the seat is immediate! And the ryder back rests are just what I was looking to accomplish. Thank you to the folks at Ultimate for getting this together for me.

the only extra I went for was the driver backrest and fuel door. I reused the stock rider backrest. But you're right, the difference is immediate. I love the Ultimate seat!

I LOVE my Ultimate tallboy seat! I have had it for just over a month or so. What a difference.

I LOVE my Ultimate tallboy seat!with the fuel door I have had it for just over a month put it on this winter what a difference. I added arm rests with it to try and make my wifes ride the best it can be. I guess any little thing will help. To cold for her to ride maybe some warmer riding outfit is next.

For anyone who has an Ultimate seat with NO fuel door, would you please comment. Does the seat swing up and out of the way just like the stock seat? I prefer the look of NO fuel door, but I don't want to have to hire someone to hold the seat up while I refuel!

Yes - anodized black on the silver seat and chromed on the brown.

The seat still operates just the way the stock seat does. The fuel door just allows access to the fuel filler without having to lift the seat.

I just posted a thread in the "how to" forum - the video is showing as "processing" at vimeo (too long for youtube) - about 18 minutes. It was almost a "real-time" install as I did one just before this one but really the install is not too painful. Following the advice on here on how to not let the spyder swallow the parts I was able to do this without any new words (or use of the old favorites).

you still have the gas spring to hold the Ultimate seat up just like the stock seats.

It works like OEM

It works just like the other one (OEM) I took off. I love that seat. You do not have to have the fuel door but it would be handy if you carry luggage or pet carrier back there.
