• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trys to jump into reverse

Hey Everyone !!

2011 RTS SE5

4-5 times in the last month & a half or so, while riding, my bike seems to try and go into reverse.
I would automatically go into limp mode, orange screen and on the speedo, the reverse indicator "R" would either switch from R to N to R to N etc. or the R would just come on, then off, then on, etc.
Sometimes it would do it, then clear it self and a couple times, I would stop, shut down and restart a few minutes later. after which, all is fine.
Also noticed (don't know if this has anything to do with above), my bass, treble & auto volume (nothing else), would reset to zero (auto volume would turn off) when I start up the bike.

What do you think ??? :banghead:

 Let's rule out the obvious first...
Check your oil level...
After that; I'm thinking that the gear position sensor may be acting up...

HiYa Bob !!!

Oil level ???

Oil was down just a tad, when I checked it yesterday. I topped it off.
I'll have my dealer check out, the gear position sensor.

Thanks Bob !!! :-)

Yup!
The ESSIEs seem to first manifest a low oil condition, by their shifting getting a bit wonky...
Good Luck!

Agree..!!

has to be in the gear position sensor or reverse switch. Tough to deal with alone but dealer should be able to pin point it. Hope it's something minor...

Bob has given a likely cause. The Gear Position Sensor could be loose, dirty or just defective. A good place to start.

All Spyder will sometimes lose all or some of the audio presets. This will happen when you turn off the key, back on again and then off. For example when you forget to set the parking brake. See the following video. Notice the radio display on the main screen disappears. That is just one of the presets that can go back to default.
