• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trunk aux plug relocation

Has anyone moved or added another aux plug from the trunk to another location? I want to move or add one to my glove box or handlebars to control web radio on my Iphone;). Thanks.:helpsmilie:

I added two Powerlet outlets to the glovebox fascia (Y-panel). I was going to use the extra 12 volt wiring for a front trunk outlet, but getting to it required trunk removal. I wired it through my switched Eastern Beaver auxiliary fuse block instead. Huge pain to take off the glovebox, and it is very, very tight to get the outlets in the only place there is clearance for them. I am not sure cigarette-style outlets would work there. I considered the dash panel, but clearance behind that is limited, too. I thought I had pictures of my installation in my album, but apparently not. There are other posts showing such installations, though, including this one. Do an advance search for "outlet" in RT Shop Talk.

I mounted my Garmin Zumo 550 to the center of the handlebars and ran a audio line from there to a female mini stereo headphone Jack I mounted about 3" below the auxiliary input Jack. I then took the patch chord provided, added a 90-degree plug on the end with shrink wrap, and now can listen to my GPS-XM-MP3 device. Works very well...

I was thinking about adding one under the seat to use for an emergency jump using cigarette lighter jumper cables for my SE5 :spyder:has anyone done this yet

For the aux audio (assuming you are talking about the 3.5mm plug and not the iPod adapter...) I ran a male-male extension from the rear under the seat to the glove box area. Drilled a small hole behind the seat back. Cheap and functional.
