• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trouble with the Spyder

Was leaking oil on the left hand side. Traced it to the output shaft seal leaking. Pulled the sprocket and shaft has slack in it. Can move it up and down. Looks like the bearing is bad. Anyone here had the same problem and what it cost to repair.
Thanks, David

Better check your sprocket fit on the shaft, too. Killing the output shaft bearing is usually the last piece of the puzzle caused by excessive belt tension. First the sprocket wallows out, then the shaft slines are damaged, and finally the output shaft bearing fails. They can fail independently, but it sure would pay to check the other components.

...and be sure to have the belt properly tensioned after the repairs.

On my GS 08, Sprocket [front] and shaft, Over 18 hundred dollars!
I could have lived with the 18 hundred, But over 45 days [working days] in the shop, and then it never ran right again after that.

I had checked the belt, after reading here, when I bought it used. It was too tight and I had backed off it. It was reading around 200 on the kript (sp) gauge. I guess damage already done. Only have put around 4000 miles since buying it. Sprocket and shaft looks good. Thanks for the reply.

To get to the main shaft, they need to tear down the engine. Sorry.
