• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The wife and I are leaving for Maggie Valley June 3rd for a week of riding in the mountains. Looks like it might be a wet week!!!

Weather can be strange there. Don't let the wet week forecast stop you. I've seen rain forecast for the day and end up with nothing or it may be spotty. I'm always prepared for wet or cool weather no matter what month it is when I head for Maggie. I think I will be there in June also and then on down to Birmingham, Alabama to Barber's museum.

My experience in the Smokies is rain will be spotty. Dry on one side of the mountain and raining on the other. Try using a weather app to see where the radar is heading. We call it Radar Tag.

It's way too early to be worried about rain, they can't decide what it's going to do tomorrow much less a week or so from now.

Wife and i are planning another day trip to the Boone area and along the BRP this coming Sunday. The weather for our trip is supposed to be nice. But as others have said, the mountains can be tricky. It can be raining on one side and nothing on another. Just download a good weather app and plan your day accordingly.

Be sure to ride the Tail of the Dragon ESPECIALLY if there is a bit of rain. It will keep the 2 wheelers off the road but your Spyder can handle it.

I dis-agree, .... there are some better choices in that general area .... Stop at Chamber of Commerce on the Main rd. and get a Free Motorcycle Routes map ...... Very helpful ..... jmho .... Mike .... PS the " Rattler "is a way better choice, less or no cops , less travelled etc. ..... Mike

I could spend AT LEAST a day (well, not with the wife) at the Wheels Through Time museum - check ahead for open days. Coming up from Mississippi, you should take the Natchez Trace - very scenic and historic. Take US70 East from the terminus in Nashville.
