There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Tricled RING and Brake Bar Wiring Frustration

Quite frustrated here....

I've installed the ring led light and the brake bar from Tricled. I am unable to get both to be in the running lamp mode. I can get one or the other, but not both.

When I have both connected as instructed, ONLY the brake bar is lit in the running mode. When I disconnect it, the ring light turns on in the running mode. When I connect the brake bar back up to the running wire, the ring light turns off and the brake bar goes to the running mode.

Both can do brake light with the push of the brake.

I'm waiting on an email from the Tricled folks, but thought I would ask here.

Thanks!

Just off hand, I would say you have a couple of wires crossed. God back and check each wire and where it is connected.

Yes, I looked at that, and even switched out the relay adapter given in the kit. I had two because I ordered the brake bar and the ring light. Same thing.

I think I've tried every combination of wire, and still can't get it to go correctly. Right now I have it as:

Both ring light and brake bar can brake light intensity. Only the brake bar can be in running mode.

Tricled support is trying to help through this. Talking with one of them tomorrow about it.

It's really not that big of a deal, but I really like the ring light and would want it in the running mode.

Not being familiar with the wiring instructions for these specific items, I cannot offer specific advice. But I agree with David. You have a ground and a positive wire crossed somewhere with one of the three lights. If you are sure you double checked all the wires, perhaps the wires were crossed inside one of the lights when they were made. I'm sure TricLed will get you straightened out, though.

I'm sure that you are correct. But my biggest complaint of this is that the instructions have a LOT to be desired. They are very incomplete.

For instance, the part where it says to wire the Ring Light, it is just a picture of wires with some arrows. But you can't totally distinguish what everything is. So, I tried every combination of what the picture could possibly show.

I'm thinking that the picture is incorrect, but it could be that I'm just not seeing one wire connected/disconnected in the picture. So, I'm quite frustrated with this as this could be made as a VERY simple diagram.

The only reason I said that it might be a wire problem is the I have the halo light, and third brake like and both of them are running lights, and brake lights. If your wiring diagram is not clear about the wires, then hopefully the company will be able to straighten it out. Good luck with your project, my lights make me feel safer.
