There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Transporting My Spyder

Any suggestions for a motorcycle transporting company that doesn't require taking my spyder to a loading dock for pickup and at the other end?

Transporting Your Spyder?

You say that you don't have to bring the Spyder to the transport company? Then I would guess that they would probably put it on some type of mount, kinda like a pallet of some type. Secure it to this pallet thing so they would be able to pick it up to load & unload it. This is just my opinion, but I believe this would be the easiest method for them. Hope you get other replies so I can see how close or far I am for this!

The trailers that www.Haulbikes.com uses have lift gates. Your bike is driven onto the gate, lifted up, and driven into the trailer and tied down. I had them bring the 2013 RT I bought back in Dec 2013 from Wisconsin to Idaho. If you can live with their pickup and delivery date windows they are top notch. Hauling powersports vehicles is their specialty and the trailers are specifically made for that use. They will pick up and deliver to your home or business address. They operate on a hub and spoke system so most bikes go through the home site in Milwaukee, WI where more likely than not they are changed from one truck to another.

Haul Bikes will be the company I use for shipping the spyder and trailer to TX. No loading dock needing to load and unload. Their lift gate can accommodate the spyder and trailer separately. They told me they transport Can Am Spyders all the time. Price for transporting was very reasonable.

I was going to suggest that I would ryde it down for you! Cheaper, and more fun!

This was my (non) shipping experience.

Shipping Nightmare[/h]
While in Florida for the winter I purchased a 2015 SpyderRT. I decided to ship it back to New York so I could enjoy it for the summer months. I called numerous shippers and I decided on ID Transport. A 50% deposit was sent on 2/27/16 to reserve a spot. The dimensions of the Spyder were given at this time. On 3/29/16 I was told that he would be able to pick up the Spyder in 12 to 15 days. On 4/4/16 I was told the Spyder would be picked up on 4/13/16. My wife and I made all of our departure preparations. The house was secured and our vehicle was packed to be ready to go after the Spyder was loaded. On 4/13/16 we received a phone call. There was something wrong with the trailer and the Spyder could not be picked up until the next day. On 4/14/16 I received a call from the transport driver. He told me that he had a bike to pick up in Leesburg and he would be in my area at 5:30 PM. At 6:00PM he called back. There was a problem. The bike he picked up in Leesburg was a custom chopper that was larger than anticipated and there was not enough room for my Spyder. He told me that my Spyder could be picked up on the next load in two weeks and I would receive a $100.00 refund for any inconvenience. I "graciously" declined their "genenerous" offer and I have terminated our business relationship. A slick web site and a long list of positive reviews is not always the true measure of a company owner's integrity.

Personally I would buy a trailer that would accommodate the Spyder and trailer and drive it down myself.

When you arrive in TX sell the trailer and be done with it! A lot of people do this. Subtract the price of the

sale of the trailer from the new price and that would be what it cost you. I assume you will be driving

down in a vehicle anyway or is this just for a visit? Always a chance of some damage when others are

shipping and in charge of looking after your vehicle.

That probably is the best way if you are going the same way as the Spyder. In my case I would have had to drive or fly to Wisconsin to get the bike and bring it back. Every way I looked at, fly there & drive the Spyder home, drive my pickup and rent a trailer, drive my pickup and take my trailer, or fly there and rent a U-Haul truck, would have cost double what it cost me to have Haul Bikes ship it for me.

G-MEN Transport Services

I used G-MEN Transport Services to ship my Spyder when first bought it; long distance sale. He is out of Harker Heights Texas. I was very pleased with the door-to-door service and it was shipped in an enclosed trailer.

I bought a older Goldwing from a dealer in Santa Cruz Ca. I contacted U-Ship and contracted with them for the pickup / delivery. They picked it up from the dealer and delivered it to my door in NC in 2 and a half weeks. The driver was great, the cost was reasonable ($500.00), and they had a website constantly updated with the drivers location.

All in all, a great experience.

It's a permanent move. However, I don't have a vehicle to pull a trailer. I will have additional insurance on both the Spyder and trailer for any damage done in shipping.

I hauled our spyder from Pa to Nv in a Penske truck. It was a 26ft with a lift gate. I was able to load it in Pa by backing up to a bank in the yard and using a couple ramps from Harbor Freight. When I got to NV, since the lift gate was too small and no docks were available to use I hired a rollback and it took two minutes to unload.
