I think it would help you alot to transfer on with both legs on the same side and I have found it easier to mess with everything on the side.

As you know its a pain in ass to rotate without the use of your hips.

I would be really concerned that your WC pad would fly out at speed or the bungie cord would fall forward and you would lose your wheelchair.

Rats off to ya for riding, how do you keep your knees from flopping around?

Nothing beats independance...

I also transfer and mount my chair similar with one leg on each side of the Spyder. I recommend that after you transfer to use a belt to strap you onto the Spyder while you hang the WC. This will keep you on the Spyder while you reach low and not fall off. I have not made a video yet (too cold) but will be posting pictures with labels on how I mount my WC.

Like Seth said, be very careful with straps and bungees. Better to use an extra to keep everything tight and safe.

That's just how I do it. Tried it Seth's way but the HO in my right
hip made it a real pain to get my leg across. I mount the wheel chair
on the side like you but the other way around. I had box built for the
cushions that is mounted on the right side. Much easier than bungee
cording them to the seat behind me. Enjoy your ride !
