• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ok I just bought a new 2015 rtl I had the hitch and wiring harness put on ok, so I had a friend who had a light weight trailer for his motorcycle it has a round 5pin connector of course brp is a 4pin square I've read some threads about this but I've gotten confused so many different opinions on what to do to convert.QUESTION is there a simple wiring harness that can be made to plug into the existing wire harness from brp to plug into the 5pin with out having to go through major surgery? the trailer lights are led. or do I need to get a whole new set of trailer lights that are 4pin? please keep it simple i'm no electrician if adapters are needed and you know the part numbers please add to your response.

ty,
jim

By your description the trailer may have a 5 pin round but is only using 4 of them. That makes it easier. I would cut the 5 pin round off the trailer and wire in a 4 square to match the Spyder. http://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p/BK_7551570/ I am assuming there is nothing odd about the wiring on the trailer. Adapter could be made but it would be just as complicated and need a mating 5 pin round connector as well.

I wouldn't cut it. You can get adapters for the round connector to the 4 pin connector at any trailer store. Might even be able to pick it up at Home Dpot or Lowes. I'm assuming this is what you need:

I would have to concur with this.
