• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

trailer towing

Where do I find plug or pig tail to adapt trailer (five wire) to match plug that will be on spyder when hitch is installed?

You will have to make your own adapter, or modify your trailer to match. You can purchase the appropriate Deutsch connector, pins, and crimping tool online, but for most folks it is easier to purchase the BRP harness that the RT-622 uses. For a 5-wire trailer (separate turn signals) you need the 2010 RT-622 Trailer Tongue Harness (P/N 710002029). For a 4-wire trailer (combine turn signals/brake lights) you will need the 2011 RT-622 Pole Harness (P/N 710002442) You can either wire the harness directly to your trailer, or make an adapter cable by adding a matching trailer connector to the appropriate length of harness. Be sure and allow enough length to run along the swingarm hitch and connect to the Spyder connector on the saddlebag.

I think my first question would be "which model Spyder do you have?" Each one has it's own can of worms. The RT would be as Scotty said, the RS/GS is easier with a powered converter. or 5 wire setup, you'd need a 5 to 5 powered converter to keep the CanBus from getting confused, tie it in by it's instructions and build a pigtail long enough to get to a convenient plug in point.

Ok, thanks. I have 2011 RT. I tried to look for a harness. Where do I order above harness? Also concerned about towing trailer other than 622. Dealer and manual suggest not to tow another trailer. I have one from Harbor Freight that I wired up for previous bike, have seen several others that have one of these. Just don't wnat to mess anything up,

I have three different trailers I tow with my RT, the RT-622, a tent trailer, and a motorcycle trailer to haul a vintage bike. No problems in about 17,000 miles, at least half of that with a trailer.

You can get the harness from your Spyder dealer, from an online parts dealer, or direct from BRP at http://parts.spyder.brp.com/Index.a...458b9fa75&catalog_id=0&language_id=1&siteid=1
