Trailer electrical connector disconnected!

During a gas stop I was checking out the bike/trailer when I noticed that the trailers electrical connector had disconnected and was just hanging by the Velcro I wrap around it and the cap. Since the connection did not seem all that secure I decided to use Velcro for just this reason.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a better solution than my velcro, which kept it from dragging on the ground and probably shattering, but I still rode for quite awhile with no trailer lights.

Mine is so tight it is hard to get it to click into the locked position. No way mine could come loose. Maybe when you hooked it up it just didnt click ( lock) all of the way?

:agree: I can't latch mine by turning it with my fingers. I have to wrap my hand around it to get a good enough grip to get it to "click" into place.

Thanks, mine has never locked. Guess I'll have to try harder...

I have to lay on the ground to get mine connected. I really have a hard time getting the cover you use when not towing to fit. :gaah:

Mike, its REAL tight. I have used a large pair of channel locks just to get a better grip.

I have found that if I wrap my left hand around the lock-ring or cap, and push up on the connector or cap with my right, it goes pretty readily. You will feel and hear it snap into place. Afterward, pull down on the lock ring. It will stay put if you did it right.
