• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trading my 2010RT for a RSS

RT to an ST, yes (may do that one day)...
But RT to RS... interesting.
IMHO, I do not like riding my wife's RS... I can do short rides in it, but after a few minutes, my back is starting to ache. And she has the 1" riser on her handlebars.

Someone has to defend the RS. I have a 2011 RSS. I do not find it uncomfortable to ride. Ride all day with stops every hour or so. It has 3" risers and the BRP touring windshield.
I am not an aggressive rider so I get 30+ MPG.
I may switch to an RT in the future so my wife is more comfortable.

Here's the thing..!!

if you prefer a bar stool to a lounge chair your doing the right thing..but I love our RS and so does my wife. She bought it so it was her choice and I'm glad she made it. We don't do cross country rydes (time) but 500 mile weekends are quite common. Imo if your thinking about it you'll love it..I also strpped my wing down to a sport bike so it may be just me...:roflblack:

I want to trade in my 2010RT for a RSS. Has anyone on here gone from a RT to an RS?

Do you think that you might miss any of the RT's creature comforts, that are lacking on the RS? :dontknow:

Heated grips
A height-adjustable windshield
Cruise control
Extra storage Space

...just thinkin'...

I don't think I will miss any of the features. It is the riding position that I am worried about. I have almost 40k on my RT. I want a sportier ride. So I guess I ride 10k per year.
I am not really excited about the looks of the rt.
Great information. Just trying to decide.
I guess I have to find a friend who has one and go ride it 500 miles in one day.

Why not the ST? Seems like the perfect fit based on your description?

- I have verified with BRP techs that you can install the ST heated grip kit, you just need to cut a hole in the binnacle somewhere to mount the switch, as there is no switch panel blanks on the RS-S. That's the only issue.
- '13-'14 RS-Ss have cruise control, which I love.
- With the BRP/Givi removable saddlebags, frunk rollaway suitcase, and the BRP softside tail bag, I don't have appreciably less storage than my wife's RT. And when I don't need all the space, I can configure the storage to my needs.

...and as far as the windshield, you can get all sorts of aftermarket windshields. But, as I mentioned in another thread, I think the '13-on RS handlebars are perfectly matched to the footpeg position and sport shield height. I actually prefer it to a windshield.

everything that is listed above can be put on your RSS and the 13s have cruise

I know that it all can be added... but doesn't that seem like a lot of work and expense to head right back where you originally were?

As far as the ergonomics:

Maybe a little work , basic install on most of that stuff

I've saw a st style windshield adapted to a RS didn't look to complicated. Heated grips may pose a little challenge to some.

The extra cost of the RT compared to the RS may be the contributing factor, if you figure about $1000 for the BRP side bag kit , $100 for a heTed grip kit (non BRP) , couple hundred dollars for a windshield, not sure what the highway pegs cost and switching to the ST bars on the RS and the ergo are changed

Oh one other thing. I need a cab on the rss.
I know j&m makes a handlebar mount.
I still want an rss. I want a 2013 green one......If I can even find one.
