• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tool to remove those @#!!& plastic pegs?

So those grumble-grumble plastic pegs all over the bike are a real pain. I was using the tip of my pocket knife to pry the center peg up until I jammed my knife tip under my finger nail. A screwdriver works but it doesn't grip well and I end up almost beheadng the fastener.

Is there a good tool, maybe something shaped a bit like pliers, for this purpose?

There is a tool for this. I read on another post that you could get it at auto parts store.

Push Pin Tool

I had a pair of old Hemostats I used for pulling hooks our of fish. I bent the end in towards each other and they work great!

Sure there are...

There is a tool for everything...:roflblack: I think I have most of them...:shemademe_smilie: but I never had a problem with the push pin fasteners. I do make sure when re-installing the that I place the slot facing out to make it easier....looks like your on your way to harbor freight.....

Hmmn :hun:didn't know this existed. I usually don't have a problem removing the push pins on my bike, but i will go by Harbor Freight and pick up me a pair just in case.:ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:

Push Pin Pliers

Here is another source. I got mine at Sears. A double set, each with a different angle.

Well, I just got a pair from HF, too. I don't agree with "look well made" but I also agree that this is a minor tool and quality isn't too important when removing a nylon peg.

The double set would be just right as there are a couple of panels that have pins on the underside

These too...

These will work too if you have enough room. If not, just grind as needed.
