• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Too much brake dust or normal for brake-in?

Too much brake dust or normal for break-in?

So I get back from a short 50 mile ride today and decide to wipe things down. I only have 306 miles on my 2015 RTS and only have had it 3 weeks. I'm taking things easy through the break-in until the 3000 mile check. I'm cleaning the inside of the back rim and notice a lot of gray dust. So much that if I take my finger and disturb it at the top that it will fall to the bottom. My orange rag was full on black/gray dirty when I got done. Braking seems normal. Is this normal for the new pads or something I should be concerned with? I'm in Iowa and the roads aren't that clean yet and the farmers are dusting the roads pretty good. Thanks for the input.

Combination...

brake dust belt dust and road dust. There will always be dust there but I don't remember that much on mine. Our roads are pretty clean so I have one less source..

Never noticed that on my 2014RTS (1600 miles), but I would say if breaking is NORMAL not to worry about it.
600 mile check, is that a "dealer" recommendation?
Typically the first "check" is 3000 miles on the 1330.

The Turtle Wax car wash soap I use gets it off in a breeze. The black powder coated rims help make it a non-issue for me. JMO.
