• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TomTom Rider 2 Owners Get a FREE TomTom Rider5

I posted some of this information the other day. I was so proud that I was able to trade-in my old TomTom Rider 2 using Amazon's trade-in program for $356. I used the entire amount towards the purchase of my new TomTom Rider 5 (or 2013).

Believe it or not -- they are now offering up to $400 for the TomTom Rider 2 as a trade-in.

I am a REGISTERED user of Amazon. Over the years I have purchased many products through Amazon and it is just easier to keep an active account with them to streamline the purchasing process. Because I always visit Amazon when logged on, I have no idea if the screens you see are displayed differently and it is possible you do not/will not see everything displayed exactly the same way as I do. I WILL WALK YOU THROUGH THE STEPS THE BEST I CAN.

1st, I logged into my Amazon Account.

2nd, I did a search for "TomTom Rider 2" A search pulled up the following screen. I did a partial screenshot of the information that was displayed. If you look carefully, on the right side, you will see a box labeled "Sell Us Your Item".

3rd, I clicked on Trade-in

At this point, you are taken to a new screen where the trade-in program is explained, etc.

You will be given the opportunity to indicate the condition of your trade-in. BE HONEST. WHY WASTE YOUR TIME AND THEIRS

4th, read all the trade-in information carefully. This was the definition of GOOD which I did a screenshot to help you understand what they mean. Trade-in items must match the EXACT version displayed for sale in Amazon according to part of the definition. I take this to mean: if the GPS advertised on Amazon comes with a RAM mount; car kit, USB cable; charger; manual, program CD, etc. YOU MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THESE SAME ITEMS to meet the definition of GOOD.

5th, you choose which category your trade-in meets. However, it would do you no good to exaggerate its condition because they will simply return it to you and you will have wasted your time and theirs. I had to uninstall the RAM mount, hard wiring, etc. because those came with my TomTom Rider 2. I would hate to exaggerate the condition, only to have it returned to me.

I was honest. You need to be too.

If you did not see the OPTION to trade-in, I would ask you --- are you signed in to your Amazon account. If you do not have an Amazon account, I do not know if you have the same options as me.

This is confirmation of my actual order and anticipated delivery date -- I did my trade-in last week. At that time they were only offering $356 for the trade-in (which was fine with me). BUT THEY HAVE INCREASED THE TRADE-IN TO $400 FOR A DEVICE IN "GOOD" CONDITION. You can literally trade-in your old TomTom Rider 2, buy the new TomTom Rider 2013 and still have $11 left over. In my case, because I only got $356, I ended up paying $33.95 for my new TomTom Rider 2013.

P.S. I USED PHOTOSHOP TO ALTER THE ORDER NUMBER, DELETE MY ADDRESS, CHANGE THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF MY CREDIT CARD, ETC.
