• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tires

search function??

Hi 47,
It you use the search function for tires you will have more reading and suggestions than you'll know what to do withnojoke.

That said----- I just had a General RT43 tire mounted on my '14 RTS. Came highly suggested here and I also have them on my AWD car. fit with no problems and required NO balancing weights:yikes:.

:welcome:
If you do what Kaos said: you'll have about six Months worth of reading pop up... nojoke
For the record: I'm running a Kumho Ecsta AST on the rear of my Spyder (in the stock size)
When the front tires are finally shot: I'll swap on a set of Kumho Solus tires, in a 155/65-15 sizing...

Yikes...!!

Major subject here...nojoke Kumho must have been the first used by spyder ryders and will be the one most seen metioned here. Since this all started the folks here have found many many more that fit the bill. You can read and read but consider sticking with those that are ryding in your area cause it does make a difference. I have had no problems with the Kenda (2 sets front, 2 rears) and am currently trying the Arachnid. Have fun sorting this all out and finding the tire of your choosing or someone elses choosing...

Wife has 2011 spyder rt sm5. Have heard a lot about not using Kenda tires. What is the best option??

The proper answer rhinshaw is pretty much ANY good quality car type tire that isn't the OE Kenda crap!!

You should pick a tire that fits your Spyder & suits your needs, wants, & ryding style (or your Missus' anyway) and yeah, you'll probably need to adjust your tire pressures down a little to allow the stiffer more robustly constructed car tire to flex enough in order to let it get up to optimum operating pressure & temps that will allow the tread to grip the road properly & avoid damage or hydro-planing, but that's not really a biggie just so long as you do it!! And remember, what works for me (Kumho Solus KH17's, 175/60R15 up front @ 16psi; & 225/60R15 on the rear at 16 psi solo/18 psi 2-up & loaded) or for anyone else for that matter, might not work for you!! Closer to std sized tires shouldn't need to go that low unless your roads & ambient temps are pretty low, but as with all things regarding tires, your needs & preferences may vary, therefore, YMMV!

Lotsa good info & advice has already been posted up, you can access it if you search, but trying to repeat it again & get it all here would be close to impossible - so it's really up to you how as to much you want to read! ;)
