• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tire Warranty

While I'm waiting for a return call from my dealership on subject of tire warranty I'll also ask the Spyderlovers members. I have a 2011 RT LTD with approx. 4800 miles. The front tires look like they are wearing evenly and have no physical damage. My problem is with balance. My left tire will be fine at pretty much any speed from 0 to 70mph but if I hit a bump going around 40mph the wheel will start to wobble until I slow down or speed way up. I had the front wheels spin balanced about a month ago and I have not lost any weights. With the bike on a lift I can push/pull the tires from the top and bottom with no movement. My tire pressure is at 18psi. Has anyone else had this problem? I think I have a bad tire. The wheel itself is perfect, no run out. Does the BRP warranty also cover the tires if there is no road damage?

Do you think that you've a belt that has separated or what?? :dontknow: If the wheel is straight and the tire is balanced and has no visiible signs of damage... what else could it be? Alignment? But your wear looks uniform...

Don't know how BRP handles tire wear warranty but at the automotive dealer where I work at if the tire wear was determined to be caused by a steering or suspension induced shimmy it would be covered 100%. A tire balance problem is almost always felt at the same speed without hitting a bump in the road. Shimmys induced by a bump in the road are almost always caused by the steering or suspension. The dealer should look for loose componets and repair. Dealer should submit findings to BRP and replace tire(s) that have been damaged as a result. Just IMO. Just not sure if BRP wants to except responsiblity for anything at this point.

I know this sounds obvious but how are your shocks, ie, Are both on same settings, shock not lose, cam ring not broken ??:popcorn:

:agree: I'd examine the shock bushings and the tie-rod ends. too. Checking for play at the top and bottom of the tire is only part of the equation.

Thanks for the good suggestions. I am running Elka shocks. But now that I think if it I have been hearing some popping sounds from the left side of the bike. I'll check that out tonight.

Maybe Elka shocks are not equal in preload of the spring and adjustable rebound damping.

If you have a popping sound, check the sway bar mounts and links to see that they are tight and intact.
