There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

tire tread wear

Looking for some information. I have a 2012 RT Limited and I absolutely love it. bike now has 9000 miles on it and the wear bar on the rear tire is very close to showing. I am not a aggresive driver. Is this normal or is there a problem with alignment. Have been thinking about switching to a car tire. Any info or advice would be appereciated.

What you're seeing...
Is pretty much normal! ;)

The Kenda is a pretty flimsy, two-ply tire. It leterally will ballon at highway speeds; weating out the center section of the tread.
Now; we were all taught that if the center section of tread wears first, the tire is over-inflated... so we reduce the tire pressure!
Trouble is; underinflating the Kenda does the exact same thing
That's why so many of us end up switching to a 4-ply automotive tire.

You are surely in the range that most experience. I consistently get 13K to 15K on my rear tires. Keep the inflation at 28 psi.

At 2000 miles I already had 1/16 of an inch more wear in the middle so I lowered the pressure to 26? So I should put it back to 28?

I did have the unfortunate circumstance of riding in the rain on Friday for the 1st time and I thought the wet weather grip of the Kenda's was exceptional.

Tough one..!!

I currently have 18,000 miles on the stock Kenda and some left. Must be the California roads because I am an aggressive ryder and usually double up. I have had good luck with Kenda and will stay with them. They were designed for this use and part of the ryde is in the softer tire. I may try the Arachnid next because it is also a motorcycle tire made for spyders. There are many other car tires out there and with good results for some, so you have to decide. :dontknow:

Make sure you're looking at the right indicators, which are lined up with little triangles molded on the edge of the tire tread.
