• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tire change help

wow! It seems like you just got your :spyder2:, but I guess it's almost a year! Time does fly, and so must you if you are already getting a new back tire! How many miles did you get on your first back tire?
 
i Have almost 7,000 miles on mine and it's pretty close to the wear bar so i was doing some research on tires and i found 1 i want to try i know a few people are using the kumho tire i'am using something else but thats another post. What i noticed is when you get down to the wear bar their is still tons of rubber on that tire so i'am not sure what makes it unsafe to keep using it. But i'am not leaving it on to find out either. OH by the way thank you gary

At only 7 thousand miles are you sure your looking at the true wear bars??
The bars with the little horizontal grooves are sometimes mistaken for wear bars.:shocked:

Mine is darn near bald every 7,000 miles.....:D

Yes it's been 1 year this month. But i have researched this bike for over 2 years before i bought some may remember what a pest i was back then with all the questions just like everyone else!

Yes. I had to get my parking brake adjusted and the mechanic pointed it out to me i thought he was busting my chops cause we kid around like that so i took it next door where they do the inspections and he also said the tire will pass but should look for a new one soon and as i 'am looking at the tire it's unbelieveable that i have all that tread and the tire needs replacing soon i think i will post pictures to show people what to look for. :dontknow::dontknow:

With average riding....not hot rodding around....what would be the average tire mileage we can expect?
 
Change your tire if you wish but there are three (3) wear bars on the tire. High, Medium and low. Look to see. If you have a lot of tread, tire should be ok. Tires are no different than car tires.

No-- I really don't---- I do a burnout every now and then---- but I do ride hard in the twisties, etc.... which takes it's toll on tires---- they're cheap enough to replace.

I think an average rider should get around 12,000-15,000 out of a rear tire if they ride pretty mellow....... but that just ain't me...:D

No there is not yes i could have ridden a while longer and i did keep the tire for 2 reasons 1 just in case i need a spare and 2 if somebody is riding in the area and gets a flat i can help either way it does not bother me always willing to help.
 
Well the tire has been changed and i got about 45 miles on it the first thing i noticed is the ride is softer for that reason alone i'am glad i changed the tire their seems to be better grip also compared to the stock tire i still need to ride more to get more information but weather is not good for this weekend.
