• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttlemeister question

Question?

Anyone using the Throttlemeister?

I have an 09 GS/RS and have several long road trips in my future and I'm tierd of crammping hands?
I saw this product and it looks interesting. I would appreciate some feed back before I invest :sour:.

I have Kuyakan ISO grips and am aware that they dont work with this system therefore I'll have to go back to the factory originals and invest in grip buddies.

Thanks

The Throttlemeister will work with the
Kuyakan grips. That is the setup that I use. Kuyakan also makes a set of throttle assist and matching counter weight for left side. The chrome Kuyakan works really well. I used it for awhile but removed them in favor of the
black Throttlemeister look.

The Throttlemesister is a great device. I installed one on Nancy's PE GS a week after she got it, and she wouldn't be without it. I have had one on my BMW RT for years....standard equipment on CHP BMW RTs. It should install with any grip that has open ends, although the size of the grip may affect your ability to turn it on or off when riding. We never turn them off...just learn to snap the throttle back forcily rather than relying on the return spring.

They worked fine on my 2008 and 2009's. Have not tried them with the drive by wire set up on the RT's.

Since the RTs have an electronic cruise control system; the throttlemeister might be a bit of overkill; perhaps the CrampBusters would work better...

Cannot install them with many internal grip heaters, and even if you can, the heat throws off the friction mechanism, so they don't always work right. My BMW has some issues in that area, but they can be worked adjusted to. The lack of as much friction when hot makes them refuse to hold, but they still reduce the throttle tension on your hand...you just can't take your hand off the grip anymore.
