• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

throttle bodies sticking

Stopped by Ride Now in Ocala to pick up a "water management" kit for Sue's new trailer today. While there, we checked with their service department about a problem that has occured three times now. Upon starting, it would idle but there was no throttle response at all and when shifted into 1st there was a rapid ticking. The second time it happened was in Maggie Valley as everyone was leaving the rally site, and another owner heard it and told me he had the throttle bodies replaced as a result of the same symptons. The thrid time it happened we were with a group of Spyders and three other riders said they had experienced the same issue at one time or another. The service writer at Ride Now immediately said "throttle bodies" and hooked it up to the BUDS which confirmed it. 5 to 7 business days and the parts should be in to remedy the problem...and Spydershusband will be allowed to be happy again:clap:!

update

Well the service writer was a bit mistaken. Turns out that was the situation on 2011's but he had us bring it back for an attempt, per BRP, to correct the situation without replacing the throttle bodies. This however did not clear up the situation and replacements have been ordered. Correction will be the same just a few weeks later as the parts have not yet arrived.

If I'm not mistaken, once the throttle body has acted up it needs to be replaced and then after the replacement the upgrade needs to be done to it in order to keep the problem from reoccuring. You might check with your dealer concerning that......

The service bulletin and ECM update apply only to 2011 RTs.
