There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Thoughts and pointers from my 6900 mile trip - tire balance and tracking

In June I had my front wheels Squared Away by Joe and Ann. Then in September before embarking on the long trip I replaced the rear tire with a Michelin Hydroedge 215R70/15. Since the tire shop couldn't do a spin balance they put in Liquid Tire Balance. The bike tracked and rode absolutely smoothly the entire 6900 miles. I felt absolutely no vibration or shake at all from the rear tire so I guess liquid tire balance really does work! Whoever balanced the front tires, factory or original dealer, did a super job. I felt no vibration from them either.

At the end part of the trip in Utah and Idaho I-84 has an 80 mph speed limit. I was getting anxious to get home and decided to heck with gas mileage. I rolled at around 85 for hours on end. When I stopped in Mountain Home, ID for gas I realized I was feeling much more secure on the Spyder than I ever did on my Goldwing 1800. In fact I really didn't like riding the Wing over 80, and preferred about 70 to 75.

The three wheels, tracking straight and well balanced, sure make for a superb riding experience. And this is on a much maligned 2013 RT mind you!

Mac, I'm glad to hear that your Spyder handled so well on your trip. I love that stretch of I15 and frequently run at 85 pulling my trailer on it. I can let my hands off the wheel and track straight down the lane.

2013 RT

:dontknow:....I don't recall anything negative about " THE MUCH MALIGNED 2013 RT " in regards to the handling / tracking of it .........Quite a few were prone to HEAT issues...IMHO......Mike

Good to hear..!!

glad you got things set up just so. Sounds like great ryding and handling....but where did the 6,900 miles take you..?? They are sweet machines when all aligned and balanced...

I wasn't going to repeat the first paragraph in my other thread, but maybe I should to avoid this kind of question.

"Over the next few days I plan to finally write up a couple or so comments about my recent trip from Idaho to Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, back to Idaho, and points between. This included stopping at Lamont's BBQ at the Lamonster Garage where I great time visiting with PrairieSpyder, Billybovine, Lamont, and a number of others."
