Went to South Texas Suzuki yesterday. Nice folks, they even asked if I'd had the recall work done before I had a chance to mention it. The service staff seemed very knowledgeable and were open to suggestions. They're ordering new keys and will try to extract the partial from my ignition when they come in.
I could probably have called them, but I was looking forward to the ride!
BTW, I've learned a couple of things about the way the key works. It really only sends a signal when it turns the cylinder, so keeping the key near the ignition isn't necessary. Conversely, turning the cylinder with another key will apparently light up the electronics, but the marquee will scold "BAD KEY" when you press the M button, and the vehicle won't start. Probably not useful information, but in case you break a key...
