• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Well I got up at 6 am to go for a 2 hours ride, it was about 38 outside, well had the wrong gloves on, summer not winter and after 45 minutes, could not feel my hands, but thanks to BRP something save me OUR HEAT ISSUE my byke was HOT alternate my hands and was able to keep riding I'm back now from the ride and all my fingers are there, again thanks BRP for the HEAT ISSUE at least we can ride and not freeze to death....:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Funny isn't it ...................

Back in 2010 when the RT's first came to market, we had our Timeless Black RT-S with the HOT right foot issue. Have to admit, on a hundred mile ryde to downtown Indy, in 18 degree temps, I was really thankful for that heat issue back then:bowdown: At least I knew one of my feet wasn't going to get frost-bite

Thanks for the reminder, as I need to remove the SpyderPops Block-Off Plate for this very reason :2thumbs:

Gotta say..!!

we're a fickle bunch..we are now thanking brp for heat issues..:roflblack: Hope they don't hear this and continue working on the heat problem cause summer will come around and the commentary will revert to not liking the heat....glad it helps those in the colder climates...

the first winter on my RTS it was fairly cold but sunny outside, had to go for a short ride. I didn't have any good gloves, only fingerless ones. I cut my ride short and got back home only to pull in the garage and look down and see the grip heater switch. :banghead: I had never owned a bike with heated grips and totally forgot the spyder had them. I love them now, hardly ever ware anything other than the fingerless gloves. As a matter of fact, the high setting is too hot. I use them on low almost all the time when it is cold.

fickle bunch

Well remember you are at 70 year round, us in the other hand will like to ride in the winter time, my post was more ironic that thanking BRP, because as soon as the temperature hits 80 my ST-S is at 300 and trust me is not fun, in the summer I was doing the rain dance with few other rider...BRP needs to find the solution to the heat, but today and everyday that is cold below 30 I will be able to ride because of my furnace, sorry my bike is running HOT...

Just plug in...

16' this morning...but blue skies...soooooo that means....layered clothes...2d layer being my heated pants, jackets, gloves....face mask...full helmet...and I'm out of here....great little 2 hr ryde to get this awesome espresso drink in a funky little awesome town..Twisp. IMG_4098.jpg

That's what I'm talking about

That is great...:bowdown::bowdown: that's why I ride in the cold weather layers, layers and out you go...

:agree: The grip heaters are a great item to have. Also, like the cruise control. Those two are my favorites.

What heat

Jumped on our STL right after lunch. 41F and windy. We went out for a little over an hour. Both of us were fine on the top half but we underdressed on the bottom. I pulled my legs in tight to the side panels to apreciate some of that heat and I felt almost nothing! I hope that means I have one of the good ones. I have it 3 weeks and just went over 600 miles. I have not rode in temps over 58F so I guess I will find out this spring.

I think that brp should take all the 2013 spyders and do a ski conversion and then they'd have no problem selling them. they might even get a premium price for the heat feature!!:roflblack:

What heat issues???
Don't forget, Spyders are designed and made in Canada. :opps: (Just kidding).

Am here in Taiwan enjoying the steamed dumplings at Ding Tai Fung but miss riding our Spyders.

Glad I'll be home by the end of next week. Hope we will still have some dry and sunny weather then.

The weather cleared this afternoon and I couldn't help but sneak out and rode to Gary Park in Steveston just before sunset. Boy, it was so nice riding again in balmy 10 degree Celsius; it almost felt like spring!

Best of all is the we will be having a stretch of sunny weather next week!

Cold weather riding

Well I got them, grip heaters and they do work it feels better than just my gloves I was going to ride to Florida this past weekend and had to turn back the ST-S was getting hot again, I will call BRP today and see what they say.:banghead:

I have often wondered why some clever person on here has not figured out a way to harvest the heat from the engine and pipe it up to a rider's jacket. It seems like it would be a nice way to get some additional heat on those cold mornings. So all of you inventive types on here get busy. I will be your crash test dummy when you get a prototype built.

It shouldn't take much:
Create a mounting system for a "dryer hose" sort of arrangement within the bodywork at an existing outlet point, and then hook the hose up to your jacket...
