• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is why you wear a helmet

Depends..!

When I was taken on a tour of the Bell helmet factory part of it was to the testing facility. There on the wall was a helmet just like this one mounted and autographed with many thanks. So I asked, it belonged to a race car driver (open car) that flipped and slid down the track trapped with his head on the pavement. He was so very lucky cause it was at the foam liner nothing lef. He walked away without even a headache...:lecturef_smilie:wear a good helmet....

:agree:

And if you think that they're expensive...

...Try looking into the cost of "around the clock care"; at a nursing facility! :yikes:

During my time as a Critical Care Ambulance Driver, I saw quite a few helmets looking very similar to that - sadly, I also saw some a lot worse (usually cheapies) & now, 30 plus years later, I still have nightmares about those!! :opps:

You got a $5 brain, stick it in a $5 bucket :yikes: - while a good quality helmet that keeps your brain off the roadway might end up looking like that after a prang, that's just the cost of it doing it's job!! And I, for one, am quite prepared to spend the $$ on a good helmet willingly!!

Yup. I used to work critical care. Helped out in the ER one day. Saw a guy brought in from a bike accident. No helmet.

I cant get the memory out of my head of what came out of his ears with each chest compression by the EMT. It was not blood.

Yes indeed.
