• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Things we do befor Spyder riding season

BLUEKNIGHT911

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
Of course routine maintenance tops the list - then adding Farkles  … and for Me - Skiing :clap: …. I had given up Snowmobiling 5 years ago for a few reasons ( safety # 1 ) and last season I decided to re-enter the downhill skiing thing. Bought new equipment annnnnnnnnnnnd a Season Pass. Things got to a slow start due to lack of Ski muscles :yikes: …. I had started an exercise regimen a couple of months prior to the start of the season, however I have decided that Ski muscles can only be developed by SKIING :lecturef_smilie:.... So it took a few weeks to get back in shape, but it was fun getting there. At the end of last season I could ski about 4 hrs without stopping ( with my mid-week pass there were NO waiting lines at all, the only rest I got was in the chair lift ) ….. I was in great physical shape at the start of Spyder riding season :D …. I continued my Ski adventure this season, and the physical catch-up time was much less than last season ….. On this past Fri ( 2-7-20 ) I had 40 days on the slopes …. Last season it took me until Mar. 1st. to achieve 40 days. Last season I accumulated 66 days skiing …. I'm well on my way to surpass that - maybe I'll get 75 to 80 days in.... PS, I'll be 73 this March …… try and enjoy life - it gets shorter all the time …. un-fortunately :banghead:...…… :ohyea:Mike

Riding season slows down, but doesn't really end here in southern Ohio. If the roads are salt free and I get the urge I will ride. Heated jacket liners go a long way towards comfort. We usually load the Yamaha in the truck and head for warmer climates for a couple of weeks in February. We have several friends in Florida and we make the rounds to visit them and get in some two wheeled fun on the Yamaha. I am not a Florida fan so two weeks of that is enough for me. I have a bit larger maintenance schedule this year since my RT mileage calls for the transmission filter change along with oil, filter, and air filter. I did a bit of adjustment to the belt last week. The Yamaha is due for an oil/filter change and I have a new AntiGravity Lithium ion battery to install. As far as winter exercise I have a bike trail a couple of blocks away and I walk three miles every morning rain, shine, or cold and have an exercise regime that keeps me limbered up and feeling good. Between the Spyder and our other bikes we average 25,000 miles a year. I had to finish up my treatments for prostate cancer last year so that was cut to 10,000 miles. I turn 65 this year and I feel great so time to make up those lost miles

For us it was maintenance, adding farkels, and making things to add to the spyder (like a bracket that mounts on the handle bar for holding a GPS)
This year we just floated down the highway until we laid anker in southern Arizona . Now we are riding all year long.

Did my service before i put her to sleep for the winter. During that time i added a second strut to the trunk lid and did a gauge-ectomy. I replaced the gauges with 12v cigarette style receptacle and a duel USB receptacle with an illuminated AMP readout. My battery is pushing 6 years and it's still holding 12.3 volts and the alternator is pushing 14.4 volts. Nice to be able to see and know when the battery starts to fail before it leaves me stranded.

Passing time on a rainy day -- correction, another rainy day, installing a set of Speed Bleeders and doing a partial bleed. Every vehicle of mine gets Speed Bleeders.
