• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Spyder Shake

Not too long ago I took my 2013 RTS in for some service. One issue I had was squealing brakes. The service manager said that they typically sanded or removed the glaze (or whatever) from the break rotors and the squealing would go away. I said OK, get her done. Needless to say there was still some squealing. I also noticed that there was some slight vibration from the front end of the :spyder2:when first taking off, that I could have sworn was not there before the service. I mentioned it to the service manager, and guess what he said! That's correct, "they all do that". Anyway, I lived with it because it was not that bad, however yesterday when taking off it became very noticeable. I pulled back into my driveway which has a pretty good slope and set the parking break and shut her down. I inspected the front end thoroughly, because that's where the shuttering seemed to be coming from. After inspection, I started her up, released the parking break, and backed down the driveway. The shuttering (slight vibration) was gone. There was no longer any vibration at all when taking off. Could it have been that the parking break was sticking or not releasing properly the whole time, or maybe something in the front break components wasn't seated properly? She is now breaking smoothly with no squealing as well (what the heck). I plan to have it checked out since she is going in to have the recall work done.

P.S. I won't be going back to the same dealer.

Search for my thread on clutch shudder. I think that may be what you are experiencing. I'd get the link but I'm using my tablet & it sucks for searching the forum.

The moment I hear the phrase "they all do that" I recommend a new dealer.. They don't all do anything. Over the past five years I haven't heard any of the problems I have heard described on here by the phrase..

While I do agree ...

I do believe that is an overused cop-out....I would have to say that I've never known of a Spyder that didn't squeak some when applying the breaks while backing up.... Can I get an AMEN???
