This is a novel idea...
A group of students from the Charles W Davidson College Of Engineering at San Jose State University designed a special bike that rides on spheres rather than wheels.
The concept is known as Spherical Drive System (SDS) electric motorcycle that can collect data from MEMS gyroscopic sensor technology and uses an onboard accelerometer to maintain balance electronically.
Taking inspiration from sphere-packing Audi in the movie I,Robot, the odd looking bike features three-motor drive system allowing it to move in any direction. Its other features, such as computer-controlled operation, zinc-coated omni-wheels, Lithium Iron Magnesium Phosphate batteries with built-in battery management system make it more futuristic.
