• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

On our trip from Hershey, PA to Maggie Valley, this week, my 15 Spyder came up with a check engine light while we were on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Long story short, after a call to Star City and our dealer (Hollinger's Sports and Turf) in PA, we went to Star City the next morning and by noon they had me on the road again!! Thanks so much to the folks at Star City for taking such good care of my Spyder!!!

P0172 Code

glad they got you going. we are planning that trip in the fall. what was wrong with your bike?

The error code on the RT was P0172 (System Rich Bank 1) Also the Check Engine light was blinking.

The service tech checked it all out and reset the codes.

Said the check engine light was probably a reminder to have the Spyder serviced (which was odd - the first service is at 3000 miles and we only had about 1000 on the Spyder)

Also said that the one possibly for the too rich condition was an excess amount of fuel in the overflow/vent canister. Suggested that we NEVER fill the spyder above the metal disc in the fuel tank.

I will say that is was very hot the day we were riding.

After the reset all was well - we ended up with a 1900 mile trip which included the Dragon and US221 (Grandfather Mountain) - Good time were had by all.

Heading back to the dealer, this week. '15 RT, 4,000 miles, engine light and code P0172 for the third time... GRRR!!!

Dealer ordered a part to fix P0172

Well my dealer has talked to BRP and they have decided we need a new part to fix up the P0172 error code issue. They will let me know when it is in and when they have it fixed up - I'll let you know if it fixed it and what part it was. (I think I heard her say a Fuel pressure regulator "thing-a-ma-bobber") (That there is a technical term used for us Us Retired engineering types)

Again - I'm the Maintaining arm and Financial Transportation Manager for Charlotte17078's money the original poster.:p

Well said!! :thumbup::rolleyes:

Update P0172 Code

Greetings - After a 3rd round of having the P0172 code and Flashing Check engine light - the dealer replaced parts.

From what they told me they replaced a PURGE VALVE and some clamps

Now we need to ride it and see if it comes back.

The strange part is that the tech told us he knew we would be back (to which I stated my displeasure) - Said BRP would not authorize parts replacement until they go through a cycle of resetting the codes and having them reappear. I stated Such a sad way to run a business. I paid a ton for this bike and want it to be reliable on LONG TRIPS - I'm disappointed.

Heading back to the dealer... 4th time... PO172 code.
No check engine light this time....
Can you tell us how this has turned out, I'm having the same difficulty. Interesting my dealer tech wrote the same thing on my repair ticket, figured I'd be back after some miles run. I have 2015 RTS, check engine light and code P0172 3 times so far.
