• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Super bouncy ride..... grrrr

Well--- my ride has been getting really bouncy lately--- before I changed the tires-- wasn't sure if new tires would help-- but they didn't.

Thinking my rear shock is blown. Basically my swing-arm is bouncing up and down like crazy--- look down and see it just a-bouncing away....

Anyone else had this happen?

Rode 500 miles after new tires on and the bounce seemed better-- but on smooth roads it's not very noticeable--- but on a road with any amount of washboarding it's horrible.

Gonna take a week or so to get an Elka I'm sure--- think I'm doing much damage riding like it is? Seems like the shock is spent and the spring doing all the work.... ugggg!

Yup!

How many Firefly miles on that shock?
Last October I got the Elka 3-way rear shock with Hydraulic preload. Typically ride 1 up(200#) with no preload dialed in and than crank it up when riding 2-up (400#).
Riding with just spring action, just watch for bottoming out against the inner fender cover. Also, does the drive belt go tighter as the Spyder squats?

I am guessing that you're well-beyond the warranty period? I'm just thinking that if you're already set on the Elka out back (), why not grab a stock replacement if it can be had?:dontknow:

I still have 2 years left on warranty-- but wouldn't even think of trying to get a shock covered--- that's a wear item in my book.

Just hate to stop riding while waiting for Elka--- have a ride planned on Tuesday down to hang out with Mickey and see some of his thespian talents live and in person-----;)

Might put some rubber bumps in the springs for a few days to help....
