Sucky zipper

I have a Tourmaster Transition 2 Jacket and love it.....except for the sucky zipper. You would think that with the cost of this jacket they would put a YKK zipper on it?
Well, I have had trouble for over six months getting the zipper start. Tonight was the clincher. The zipper tab broke off. :banghead: There is a locking mechanism in there that has to be released for the zipper to move. I managed to get the zipper to start using my Leatherman pliers.

I've sent a note off to Tourmaster to see if there is a fix? The manufacture of the zipper ESO has no USA contact.....only in Chiner.

Guess I'll attach a some aircraft safety wire as a temporary pull tab and see how that works?

in the past I've had luck finding a tailor who replaced a few zippers in a ski and a hunting jacket. might try checking with someone local there in your area.

My temporary fix....maybe forever fix? I attached some .041" aircraft safety wire to the runner part.

I do not know what yours looks like, but have thought about a ring off a key ring ? Oldmanzues

I did just thatl years ago on a leather jacket and it worked fine for years until the Jacket finally wore out. If you have some JB Weld, fashion the wire with a loop and put some Weld on it for better grip.
