• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

stupid question

When the Spyder first came out [07/08] It was called GS, Then BRP decided to confuse every one and started to call GS's, RS's:hun:

GS is the model name when the :spyder2:s came out back in '08 and '09. When the RT came out for '10, BRP "re-named" the GS to RS. More likely to do a "Roadster Sport" and a "Roadster Touring" re-naming on the model.

This is my understanding as well.

One more thing, there is NO SUCH THING as a stupid question, only stupid answers....................................

If it is what is in your avatar, then yes you have a GS or RS. Depending on what year.

2008's were GS models. 2009 it was changed to RS.

I tried to go to the BRP "non user friendly" site, to verify, and the operators manuals for 08 and 09 would not boot up--so I cannot swear to this in court. Now that I am curious, does anyone have the answer for sure?

There were two models of GS,RS made in 2009. I know this because my 09 was called a GS and did not have fins on the upper plastic cover on the wheel struts just like an 08 GS. My sons 09 was built later in the year and has the fins and was called an RS. Both are definitely 09 models just different build ranges. Other than the plastic fins they are identical. I have since replaced the plastic parts with ones that have fins and can see no difference except for looks.
