• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. So I went to the Nearest Dealer today ready to purchase my New 2014 RT
Looking around the showroom only seen 6 New 2013's so as I was looking at them
the Salesman walks up and asks what brings me in today. I told him I was looking to
purchase a New 2014 RT. He replied We have 6 New in Crates out back, but we're not
going to put any on floor till we sell all the 2013's. I asked to speak with the Manager
or owner. He said they wasn't in. He said he would be glad to sell me a 2013 how
would you be paying for it .....LOL. I said cash if need be. But for 2014 model I been waiting
for a year to purchase a 2014 model. He insisted that he wouldn't sell me a 2014
i found that to be strange and crazy. So I will travel more than hour away to see if
i could buy one. They had 6 2013's on the floor and 3 in crates. With this kind of
attitude no wonder they still have so many 2013's still.
just wondering is this normal for dealers to do?

All I can say is you have to be kidding. :yikes: Turning down a sale on a 2014 until they sell the 2013'? I would surely recommend talking to no one but the manager, and see if you can contribute to sending the jerk salesman down the road to find more compatible employment.

Which dealership? They deserve some free advertising. :sour:

call

i would call BRP and tell them what happened even if you don't go back to them. if they don't want to sell a 14 to you than you don't need them

Yeah! :yikes: I know Dealer is Richardson Power Sports in Richardson Texas
i won't ever return to them.

I would still recommend a talk with the manager. He/she needs to know what their sales personnel are doing. If it turns out that what went down is company policy--then they deserve the bad press. If the salesman is out of bounds, that needs to be corrected, and not held against the dealership.

Interesting..!!

hopefully it was just that salesman. Hate to think any dealership would lose a sale from overstock. Hard to sell this way. But not common, to offer is the norm but to refuse is wrong...:dontknow:

Conspiracy theorist here.

It may be that the sales people there, at that dealer, get a larger commission to move the 2013s. Hence the harder push to sell the 2013s. Who knows? :dontknow:

Definitely tougher to move the 2013s due to the issues and the double whammy of the big-boy 2014s. So the dealer may be paying a bonus on 2013 sales.

You got to be kidding me. That salesman should be fired.

Surely you don't think the salesman set the policy to keep the 14's in a box until the 13's are sold. :roflblack:

I sold Honda motorcycles for 4 years in the 80s. If someone came in and wanted a certain year Honda and we had it crated, it would be ready within 24 hours, no matter what we had on the floor. A dealer should be in the business to get units on the street with happy riders. What a STUPID dealership. Wonder what other "policies" they have? RUN, Forrest RUN!

Dealership deserves bad press even if it was the floor cleaner that set that ridiculous policy. No one should walk into a business and have their time wasted like that.

Richardson motorsports

i checked out thier web site and for Can Am motorcycles, they only show the 2014 spyders???:banghead::hun:
I would go to a different dealer:yes:

I agree Lewis passports Greenville Texas bought mine there by phone call only they put it on a truck , UShip and delivered it to FL to my home in 2012

This early in the year it sounds to me like they want to rid themselves of last years models first. If they know the demand for the 14's is hot this sales pitch might work for another month or so OR until you find a dealer that had better luck getting rid of his 13's. My dealer has a couple of 14's sitting on the floor right next to his leftover 13's, the price difference might just help sell the 13's first... 5 to 7 grand is a BIG sales pitch!
