• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Steering issue Found and Corrected

Hi All, I was having trouble with my 2019 RTL steering. It would "dart" I'll call it while going down the road. It would all of a sudden kind of jerk to a different position in my lane, a foot or so. At first I though it was me oversteering, maybe holding the handlebars with a death grip, just being a new Spyder owner, the tires, road surface, etc. So I took to a Mineral Wells WV Can Am dealer thinking I needed an alignemnt, and if not the Tech would find the cause because it felt pretty dangerous to me. Well the Tech checked the alignment, tire pressure, tie rod ends, steering assembly, tire wear, bearings, rims, sway bar. What he found was the top nut on the left f shock was left loose, apparently by a CanAm dealer in Richmond Va who:clap: installed the new sway bar for the previous owner. He tighten it up and the thing drives like a dream now, stays where I steer it. I thought I would mention it, in case someone else was experiencing the same symptoms and unable to find the problem. Have a great day folks. Jim

Very interesting! Not sure I've heard this one before. Great catch by the tech! We need more of them like this one.

Had a similar issue with my new to me 2014 RT LE ( 3 months owning). Doing coolant and brake flush, gave the BajaRon sway bar a yank and it moved in situ. Knowing this was not supposed to happen, checked a friends 2018 F3 Limited sway bar, it was secure and did not move. Checked the install, bushings were loose, could move by hand. Checked install instruction(s) regarding bushings, tightened up the bushings and had a slight bulge on the bottom of the bushing. Made a huge difference. Previous owner had the sway bar installed at purchase in 2014, and it was never checked since. Should not have come loose, but it did. A maintenance item that should be checked periodically.

Not sure why anyone would need to loosen the upper shock bolt to install a sway bar. Quite possibly it was never tightened properly at the factory?
