There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Stebel Mounting Suggestions

I have a Stebel Nautilus to mount today on my 2012 RTS air box and resonator gone. Anyone have a photo or suggestions where to mount the horn?

Thanks
JT

I have the Wolo Bad Boy horn that looks exactly like the Stebel. My dealer installed it completely out of sight on my 2013 RT. They mounted it near where the OEM horn was, behind the left front panel under the fog light area. The only way you can see it, with the panels in place, is to shine a flash light directly up the left "nostril" of the Spyder's nose, and you can see it up there in front of the upper suspension arm and shock absorber. That's how I shot the flash picture below. There is a black plastic casing inside that airway with a hole in the upper surface for the original horn to stick down through. We had to enlarge the hole to accommodate the larger horn, but it fit securely up in that space. Sorry I do not have a picture with the side panel off.

While many advise that a relay is not needed for the air horn, I would recommend using one. If your 2012 is like my 2013 and later models, the fuse that serves the horn also feeds a "load shedding relay" (controlled through the can-bus) that in turn feeds power to several high-power consumption accessories... the fog lights, grip heaters (front and back), air compressor for the rear suspension, etc.

I mounted my Stebel in the same place as the OEM one, using the same mounting hardware. I recall I had to punch out one of the holes in the bracket to make it slightly bigger, but other than that it was a simple installation.

After finding the horn under the left headlight, it will stay there and I'll mount it on the right side in the wide open I think.

Thanks, but a 2015 is a totally different animal than my 2012. Took an hour just to find the horn... as for your missile system I'm in total agreement and was trying to figure out how to mount this on the Spyder but went with the Stebel instead.

I did find a spot on my 2012 to mount the horn. The bracket is in the oven flashing off for some powder coat in a bit... I'm almost ready for Wednesday departure to the real swamps.

That works great for the 2014 & later RTs, but the previous ones with the V-twin engine have an oil tank in that space. No room to add anything to speak of in there. That's why I opted to use the Wolo trumpets on my '13 RT. Barely had room to stuff the compressor under the tupperware below the left service cover behind the frunk.

Bracket out of the powder coat oven alone with a couple of reworks... dang I'm picky.

Awful big brackets to mount a horn :yikes:

Actually the perfect size for the 2010-2012 and maybe the 2013 RT's. With a rigid mount the horn is louder or is seems so to me. I tested it in my hand then after the install and to me it was much louder. Scared the heck out of my wife when I showed her.
