This year, I’ll be a shavee in one of the national St.Baldrick’s Foundation annual events. For those of you not familiar, volunteers sign up to shave their heads in solidarity with children diagnosed with cancer in return for financial support.
Through Facebook, I reconnected with a friend from high school and in reading through her past posts I found out her daughter Brinley was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (you can read her story here: http://www.sweetbrinley.com/. I was moved by her family's determination and spirit through their journey and found it very inspirational. Not going to lie, at times, it brought a tear (or two) to my eye.
If you are able to donate (even a little bit)your money will impact children who are being treated at more than 215children’s hospitals throughout the U.S. My donation page can be foundhere: http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/MMMII.
To make things interesting…. My family has kick started the donations with $100 AND for every $1.00 raised, we will donate $.50 (up to an additional$500).
BIG THANK YOU in advance for your consideration!
