• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Squeak whwen shifting

Is it normal for an SE5 to have a little squeak when sitting still and shifting from reverse to neutral to 1st or vise versa. Just getting all my info ready for my trip to the dealer to have my clutch leak checked. I assume it does the same on the road but you can't hear it.Thanks

Dave, they usually make some metallic clinking/clunking noise in the process of gear changing, if that's what you're referring to. If so, its normal. Especially going into 1st...big clank! :)

squeak..!!

no...the gears meshing together give the clank or clunking. But while they are in there they could peer about. Now make sure you have them hear it not just tell them and see if it is still there after. I am not that familiar with the se5 system but those that do will come along...

OK so I call BRP today to find out exactly what setting my belt tension should be. They told me they cannot tell me because the dealers have to. WTF. I said I have 2 different dealers telling me 2 different tensions and neither matched the service manual 1050n and all I need is someone to talk to and confirm it. Sorry we can't do that the dealer has a tech service number to call we do not have access to that information. OMG I am getting so tired of fighting to get things as they should be with dealers who are clueless and now BRP Customer service cannot give me a simple answer. I got one dealer telling me it is no problem shifting at 1800rpms Really? Is he going to pay for my new clutches?

The Squeak , by the way, seems to occur when going in and out of neutral could someone please check their SE5 and go from first to neutral to reverse and back again a couple of times and tell me if you get a squeak when you do it? Please:pray: I want to know if this is normal or not so I can make 1 trip to the dealer and get everything straightened out.

My wife's 2009 GS does NOT squeak when I shift it from neutral to first or first to neutral. Only a clunk is heard.

I have an SE, and I have heard something occasionally when I am stopped in first and shift it into neutral......But I think this sound is in the PADDLE mechanism otherwise It's the same as others have said ...it clunks when shifting .....less so the higher the revs while under acceleration.....Hope this helps...Mike
