• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SpyderWolf's Mods

I figured I have finally done enough things to warrant posting a thread of my Spyder modifications.

This is the front of my Spyder, with the graphics kit from Spyder Detailing and a Transformers Autobot logo. You can also see the fog lights:

My Black Powder Coated front wheels with BRP Caliper Trim Kit:

I just switched out my BRP Sport Touring windscreen for this Givi D770ST. I give it high marks as it still looks sporty, and I am no longer a bobble head going down the road:

This is my new Safety Card label, for the times the Spyder is parked and I don't want anyone messing with it. I have no intention of selling my Spyder, but if for some reason that time ever comes I am sure I can get a new stock one to replace this with:

This is a new license plate that South Carolina just came up with in 2009:

These are the BRP Custom Handlebar Grips:

Hindle Exhaust:

BRP Comfort Seat:

BRP Anti-Vibe bars with billet aluminum end caps. You can also see my Cramp Buster:

BRP Rear Sport Rack and Back Rest:

I think that was all that is worth taking pictures of right now. The rest of the items are listed in my signature.

If you have any questions about any of these items, let me know.

My kids were looking over my shoulderand spotted the transformer decal on the front, they love it. :thumbup:that is a great wrap and really highlighhts the base yellow... great job.:congrats::firstplace:

Looks great!! Like the windshield, I have the BRP touring & it hits my hand when backing tight after seeing yours I might have to change.

Thanks, I will post some more pictures of the graphics shortly. Be sure to tell the kids the ryder is the only thing that transforms on this Spyder, he becomes a grinning fool everytime he rydes it.

If you turn the bars all the way to one side or the other, my knuckles will barely touch the sides of the Givi screen. They never touched with the sport touring windshield, but at 5' 9" my head would get buffeted pretty badly. I kept all 3 screens I have so far, and may switch back to the sport touring when it becomes unbearably hot here in the summer. Have to test this one and see though. Not being buffeted may be worth being a little warmer.

Thanks Dean, now it is your turn to get started. :D

Thanks for answering that Pat. Peter does great work, and has some new designs on the site now called rain, that look like your bike is constantly wet.

Thanks to the folks at ESI

ESI had a booth set up at Destination Daytona during the 2010 bike week, and after seeing a couple of their products I decided I needed to add to my Spyder.

I had been resisting putting anything spider related on my Spyder for a long time, but these foot pegs looked so good that I gave in and got them along with the billet pedal covers.

Left side peg with extended parking brake pedal cover:

Right side peg with brake pedal cover:

I also got the LED Mud Flap Lights, which light up the Spyder very nicely and are a definite improvement for night ryding visibility.

Night time visibility improvements.

Cateye License Plate Light

I also lost my license plate reflector on the way to Daytona, and had to come up with a solution to keep from getting a ticket. Thanks to Lamont for stating a Cateye light would fit, the technical assistance folks at J&P Cycles for taking a look at the Spyder and figuring out which light would work, and to Dustin the contracted J&P mechanic for getting it installed for me.

Here is the package to show the actual model number of the light in case anyone else is interested in it:
picture.php

It does require 2 new holes to be drilled into the rear fender, so it is highly recommended to remove the rear fender first:
picture.php

Once the light is installed and the fender back on you should be good to go:

If anyone knows where to get Millenium Yellow touch up paint for the two places the stock light rubbed the paint off, please let me know.

With the addition of this light, my Spyder now looks like this from the rear at night:

I believe that is some very good visibility now, and well worth the time, money, and effort it took to get the lighting mods done.

About three weeks before the Missouri Rendezvous I did the same thing based on your example. I never did like the stock reflector with license plate bulb. When the bulb shattered and I didn't have one small enough, I decided to chuck the whole thing. I remembered SpyderWolf replaced it with a Cateye light that I liked. Since you gave us the part number, I was able to order one online. Now, mine looks just like yours.

SpyderWolf has also helped me with some decisions.

I love this site!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Glad to hear this thread helped you out with your broken license plate issue as well. That's what sharing out here is all about, just like Spyder1026 is now helping me decide what suspension change to make first.

This site is definitely a great resource for finding help with anything you might need. :2thumbs:

The latest edition is the Missing Air Dam kit made by SpyderPops, also known as Repops on this site.

Great quality product that fills a basic need to keep the engine running cooler.
