• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderweb USA- Are you game?

Ever since Gut's and Glory canceled I've been thinking about what I/we could do to replace it or better yet have our own major riding event with just Spyders. While I was in Cowtown I ran an idea I had by some of the folks there to see what they thought. The response was very supportive so I then approached BRP about my idea to see if they would want to run with it. They loved the idea but they were honest and said they didn't think they could make it happen as fast as we could. I called them again today to make sure they were okay with me running with this and they pretty much said the same thing and offered support in the way of prizes for winning members.

The concept is to create a spyderweb across the whole country, all 50 states with maybe some bonus points for some locations in Canada to help include our friends north of us.

We have state boards here now and what I would ask is each state come up with at least 10 major locations in their state that they think would be a good spot to visit on your Spyder. We will then put together an official list on each state board that you could check off as you visited those locations.

So lets say on the TN board one of the stops listed was "The Snake 421". You could be from any state and post on the TN board that you were at "The Snake" and submit a picture to go with it. You would then earn 10 points for that visit.

What I would really like to see is SpyderLovers organizing rides with local members to go out and knock out some of the stopping points on the list. It's really just an excuse to ride much like we did with the banner run a couple of years ago.

The nice thing about this is you could do as little or as much as you like. My guess is the more you ride and the more points you collect the more you'll want to get out and see how many of these points in the web you can knock out.

I'm pretty sure I can get vendors to kick in for some prizes and I was thinking maybe your local Spyder dealers might want to get involved as we could give some bonus points for stopping by a Spyder dealer.

If you think this is something you would like to do we can start to work on the details. So what do you think, do you want to build a spyderweb across America? :doorag:

Awesome idea! Where do you want us to post the sites? I've got two in mind for Michigan. Hell, MI and Lake of the Clouds, Porcupine Mountains, MI. A bunch more come to mind.

If we run with this you would post your idea on the chapter board that the stop is located. In your case that would be the Michigan board.

Let's see what the response is first. :doorag:

Sounds like a great idea. Just got back from a day trip to Wilmington NC, home of One Tree Hill, the USS North Carolina et al.

Another G-R-E-A-T idea
Sounds like fun.,.....we're getting more Spyders in Iowa all the time..:ohyea:

I think it is a great idea. I know you aren't looking for ideas right now but to go with Rando's stops, I think if we go to Hell we have to add Paradise and of course the Mackinaw Bridge.

Sounds Great:yes:Let me know what you want and I'll do what I can to make it happen:thumbup: There are some really fantastic Rydes in AR.:2thumbs: I'm pretty sure BRADFORD Marine:clap: would be willing to provide some sort of an incentive for Spyer Ryders to visit their Dealerships. I'll ask and get back to you on that though:chat: Great idea Lamont:ohyea:

I started reading SpyderLovers tonight in the Michigan boards and was wondering what a Spyderweb stop was. Now I know. :D (Not knowing what the Spyderweb stop was didn't stop me from posting some scenic rides or places in Michigan). :D :D

I also think it sounds like a really cool idea, and another excuse to get out and put more miles on our Spyders. We have also been getting quite a few new members from South Carolina on the board lately, so this could be a good way to arrange meeting with a bunch of them at once.

It would be interesting to see the route map and its check points of interest, and the time to complete the trip.
