• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders in the Smokies?

I figure that for this purpose, MD-DC and NoVA are close enough. I'm planning on doing the 2010 Spyders in the Smokies down in Gatlinburg TN IIt's September 22-25th, which is a Wednesday through Saturday; although events actually start as early as Monday the 20th (see www.spydersinthesmokies.com). The event is huge, and includes daily rides of different types ... not to mention Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in 11 miles)

I'll go by myself; but would also enjoy riding down with others, be it one or a few. I'm thinking an overnight in Roanoke, VA on the way down; but then again, one could do a 520 mile butt-burner. If we wanted to get 'jiggy,' we could hop onto the Blue Ridge Parkway (hmm another BRP) enroute.

If anyone is forming or wants to form a DC-MD-NoVA Contingent to Spyders in the Smokies, please be in touch and let's get our reservations in soonest. It's two and a half months away.

Silver...are you still planning on going to G'burg?

I will be departing Martinsburg WV and taking I-81 also. Originally, I had planned on driving straight through to G'burg but I'd enjoy the company.

Not sure which route you'd take to get to I-81. We could meet in Martinsburg or Roanoke. Where were you thinking of staying in Roanoke? What time did you plan on departing on the 20th (In case I want to meet up that morning instead)?

Look forward to seeing you both there. I'm riding from the beach, leaving on Monday and returning on Friday. My route will be 58, I85, I40. Be safe the first beer, soda, or coffee is on me.
