• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SpyderQuest from NJ

Hello all,
Leaving from NJ heading to SpyderQuest on the Parkway, it appears there is 2 ways to get to I87. One is to take RT 17 north (shortest) or continue up the parkway to 287 (longer). I am not concerned about distance, want to avoid traffic and get there the quickest. Hopefully some of you are familiar with this area and the traffic and can recommend the best route.

Thank You,
Louie and Meg
Looking forward to meeting you all there on Wednesday. :ohyea:

Avoid Rt 17

not sure where your starting point is, but Rt 17 is Jersey not only has heavy traffic, but a lot of local traffic (shopping malls, restaurants) I would stick to the interstate, longer in miles, but less headaches and maybe same time wise

The top end of the Parkway intersects 87 (NYS Thruway). There's construction on the Thruway North of Suffern that causes bad traffic congestion. You can switch to 17 N there to get away from that traffic; 17 North of Suffern is very different than 17 in New Jersey.

What day and what time are you heading up? It would be great if we could set a meeting point for everyone coming up through New Jersey and go up as a group.

Meg and I are leaving at 7:00 AM from exit 58 on the GSP. My gps shows taking RT 17 at exit 163 on the parkway. Garmin base map suggests taking the parkway/ NY thruway up to 287 then north on 87. Trying to find the fastest way in that area. If you are leaving in or about the time we will be in your area, meeting up would be fine.

Thanks, exactly what I am trying to avoid, local traffic.

I just followed the 14 mile RT 17 section from above on google earth. It is 3 lanes and is like an interstate. We are going to follow this route unless someone chimes in with better information.

This is the route we will be taking. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Rad...61a1b5b848!2m2!1d-73.6972065!2d43.3524768!3e0

Take 17 north from the GSP you won't have any problems. Watch the merge from 17 onto 87 north it can be a little tricky at times.
