Spyderpops rear lighting kit for RT - strobe question

Does anyone have the 4 piece rear lighting brake/run/turn kit from spyderpops? Here is the link: https://spyderpops.com/rt-brt-rear-...function-fits-all-rt-models-plug-n-play-easy/

I had it installed, and noticed the strobe brake function doesn't seem to be a full strobe, i.e. the right section will flash then the left section will flash, and I was under the impression (mistakenly perhaps) that the entire thing, all 4 sections would flash at the same time when the brake was pressed.

Long story, but I don't have a video of it, nor do I have the spyder with me now to take a video of it. I only saw it for a short period of time, but was hoping someone who has the same one can help me out. Is that normal?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

sounds like wig -wag

and by that I mean " wig -wag " like on official autos ( police cars , ambulance , fire truck ) they flash opposite each other , ( looking at the instruction sheet I have , as I never put the lights on , over 2 years now :yikes: , well time flies when you are riding spyders :roflblack: .... looking at the instructions , " plug in harness to the harness for the tail lights and then plug in the l-e-d`s from bottom 3 strips , now plug in tail lights and put them back as before , ( I guess they mean before we take the cycle apart and loose 2 bolts or screws , and for get to reinstall the tabs ;) )and the last l-e-d is up too the top and easy to gain access , for the last l-e-d bar on the top case ... this is from the spy 184 r-t brake run turn lights with strobe ... it doesn`t mention the function of the strobe ... I will check the video division for more information if I see something I will check back in ...

hahahaha think i see

here is a video I do remember looking at around 2 years ago , and you can see why I decided to go riding :roflblack: https://youtu.be/Llv-EKtBGOA this is pretty much how the lights will install , my not be spyder pops , but the connections will be the same , now I wonder if there are 2 different styles of lights , the wig/wag type as in above reply , and the all on at the same time type ? ( time to give spyder pop a call and double check , from others who have contacted any spyder aftermarket things , seem to be happy at the end product , or so from the replies I have read ) probably will get a 2nd set and ship back 1st set type thing ? will not hurt to find out ... or just leave them , as you are not in back looking while driving ...

Some of the units are defective. Mine was and Spyderpops sent me a replacement. It was just the left side harness on mine. Call him.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Since my Spyder is at the shop 3 hours away, and they're closed today and tomorrow, I was hoping someone might have a video of the light "strobing" so I can email to them to compare.

I do have the spy184 from spyderpops - link is in the original post. I don't necessarily mind if it's not in unison, but I want to make sure it's not defective.

I will call or email spyderpops today.

Mike

thanks j.c.

I have installed several sets of these and they do not wig wag. They strobe in unison.

I wasn`t sure , I see some on sport 2 wheelers that flash like wig/wags . so I wasn`t total sure if there were 2 different sets

I also recently installed these lights, albeit on my F3-S. The back and forth flashing between sides is definitely not normal. Mine all come on at the same time.

Have you gone through the "hyper flash" process to reset the light timings? If not, try that, and see if it helps. If so, sounds like you have a defective set and should get them back to the seller.

Thanks, I will mention it to the technician tomorrow. I'm hoping it's something simple!

Pops will take care of you

Call Spyder Pops, he will take care of your problem like no one else I have every done business with. He knows the value of good customer relations.

I already got in touch with spyderpops, he said what thought - that the lights should flash in unison. I'm hoping it was just my eyes, and i'll find out tomorrow when i see a video of it

Mike

That is NOT how mine works, mine was installed at Lamonster garage by Spyderpops crew........

Mine too. They should all flash in sync with each other.

Have you tried the reset/sync process that came with the lights? If not, try it to see if it fixes the timing issue. If so, get a new set from the vendor.

I tried hyperflash reset and it didn't work.

Harvey from Spyderpops said it's not normal and replacing the left harness should fix it. He's sending me a new one

Now I just need to figure out how to replace it :yikes:

Well, the new harness came in today. I followed the instructions, replaced the harness, which was easy to do since it was already there and saw how it was. Unfortunately I have the same issue. I don't know what else to do at this point. I emailed spyderpops so we'll see what the next steps are. Ugh
