• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderlovers - A Positive Experience

NorthStar

New member
Shortly after signing the papers to purchase my Spyder RT back in February 2010 my enthusiasm as a prospective new owner was severely dampened by a rash of negative comments about aggravating issues owners were experiencing with the newly minted RT's. Some of the rantings at the time were warranted, and BRP over time, and I'm sure with a bit of prodding from knowledgeable members of this forum, have addressed most, if not all, of the deficiencies reported. I lived with the recalls and even addressed some of the deficiencies myself after reading the helpful comments and mods of Spyderlovers on this forum. As a result my machine is maturing gracefully and has given me 2 years of faithful service.

A key for me as an owner was to read the threads on this forum, ask questions, and learn as much as I could from the Spyder gurus here at Spyderlovers. I also worked with my dealer's service techs to make sure that any deficiencies were addressed properly and to my full satisfaction. If you are thinking about purchasing a Spyder it is very important that you trust your dealer. This is a high tech machine that requires a proper set up to operate to its full potential and if done properly you can expect a wonderful driving experience.

My modifications to my 2010 RTs continue to this day and I would like to thank the countless number of Spyderlovers and site vendors for their many innovative tips and Spyder specific products that make this machine just that much more fun to own and ryde. If you are a new owner, or someone who is simply looking to find out more about the Spyder, just post your question(s) and you will be amazed at the overwhelming number of members who will quickly respond with a variety of answers.

I have been a member of a number of motorcycle forums over the years and admit freely that the technical savvy of this crew, and their willingness to share, is second to none. Regardless of whether you are a grizzled vet with decades of motorcycle driving and wrenching experience, or you are completely new to the open air enjoyment of the Spyder, you will be treated respectfully at all times.

Wrapping things up, I just want to issue a public thank you to everyone at Spyderlovers who have shared so much of their time and Spyder specific knowledge. I am not embarrassed to admit that pretty well everything that I have done to my RT was either as a direct result of member tips and mods or some warped version of these mods created by my own imagination.

A great forum populated by great people. :firstplace::bowdown:

Awesome comments. I couldn't have said it better. This site, and it's members and vendors, have added to the enjoyment of the Spyder I own.

Good job!!!

Totally agree

:agree::agree::agree: NorthStar..well stated and soooo true.
Yep Spyderlovers have been major factor in my becoming ADDICTED to ryding Ms Spyder...
And what an awesome addiction to have....

Excellent

I too have learned much about the spyder. From the first day I owned it at a gas station a spyderlover in a cage came and spoke to me and went out of his way to help me out with a minor problem. Loose battery cable was the problem and i did not know how to even get to it. Since then I continue to read most of the posts to further my knowledge and perhaps help someone else in need. As was stated on another post "pay it forward". Thanks to all who continue to post both problems and achievements.

A FORUM??? I thought it was just a place to hang out, drink a beer or two and talk bikes! :D :roflblack:

In all seriousness, (I cannot believe that I've said that! :opps:), I've learned a ton of good stuff about my RT here and I've even learned what questions to ask and what to watch for when things turn to mud...

:spyder2: I think your thread is very interesting and for those that want to learn about this bike and work on it they have a place to go. I want to thank all of the Spyder ryders for their information. You made your point as a great importance for others. I also bought a 2010 Blue RT and read these threads every day and worked on my Spyder myself which is a time consuming but rewarding adventure when finished. I have 18,000 miles and waiting for the warmer weather to come. I will be riding down to Spyderfest in April.
THANKS TO ALL SPYDER RYDERS AND BE SAFE WHILE RIDING YOUR TOY.

Great forum- Ask a question-Post a pic or video of problem and you will get answers.
Time for a 40 degree ride to the ocean and back and to take some more video with my $39 720p Keychain cam.

Well said
