• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyderfest 2011- Saturday

Today was the last day of the event and I was kind of sad to know it was almost over. The bad weather that was all around us never showed it's face during the event other than Wednesday but that wasn't really part of the event schedule. There was a 40% chance of rain on Saturday but there was a 60% chance that it wouldn't rain and it didn't. You just couldn't ask for better weather to end Spyderfest 2011.

My buddy BajaRon had to take off early so that meant I was driving home by myself. That's fine as I don't mind riding alone, for some reason I don't like eating alone though. He really missed another great day but he got a good taste of what Spyderfest was all about and I'm sure he'll be back next year.

There wasn't anything planned first thing in the morning so that gave me some extra time to get caught up on my work. I wasn't sleeping very well at night even though I was dead tired. The hotel I was in had some panels blow off under the roof and the pigeons were having a party right above my room every night and between the pigeons and Ron's snoring I just couldn't get much sleep.

When I got to Cowtown the place was pretty much packed out.

As you can see the parking lot was full and folks had to park out on the side road. It was great to see that many Spyders in one place and so many folks having a good time. I got to say that I'm not sure how they were able to give you all this for 30 bucks but they did. :2thumbs:

There was a lot of good parking lot fellowship going on during and after our lunch. That's one of the best parts of an event like this.

After lunch a pretty good size group of us took off for a planned ride. I must say that I'm not much of a group ride kind of guy but I had a blast on this ride. The roads were great and it moved pretty good so we weren't all bunched up all the time. We had great leaders and great blockers. I was say for the most part they were all pretty good riders in that group.

The ride ended up at the Wagon Wheel and we got there a little early so we hung out there so we could do the Parade Ride into town.

From the Wagon Wheel we had a police escort through town to our final destination. It wasn't a very long ride but it was still pretty cool. We packed the streets of Cuba out once again.

So do you think the RT trailers are selling pretty good? I think so.

There was a live band setup when we got there and more food provided for the event. I got to tell you I ate really good at Spyderfest and I was a little concerned that I may have put the 10 lbs I loss back on. The food and drinks were all part of the package.

After dinner they had some awards that were handed out for the Passport rides and a few other giveaways. I got to say the vendors really stepped up and gave a lot of really nice prizes. Seems like pretty much everyone won something. :doorag:

These are the folks that made this all happen and I'm sure there were a few more that weren't on stage. I got to tell you that this is going to be a hard event to top. I've been doing rallies and motorcycle events for the last 11 years and I've never seen a group of folks gel like these folks did. It was one of the most organized, fun and active events to date. If we do nothing but keep what we had this time we'll be doing good but I'm sure next year will be even better now that we've learned a few things that could be tweaked for next year.

Thanks again to all who put this on and to all that took the chance on the bad weather and made it out anyway. You folks are all the cream of the crop in my books.

My only question is how can I turn back time and do this over again? :chat: I dont' think I can wait another year til Spyderfest 2012. :yikes:

  1. stops, and restaurants, emergency phone numbers, key chain, air pressure gauge and assorted gifts from local shops.
Not that I am complaining... I thought it was a GREAT deal... but I must have missed the air pressure gauge...:dontknow:

Thanks Lamont we are both humbled and amazed that we get to play a roll in this event, you said it best with the fact that everyone just gelled together, spyderlover members are the best there is!:2thumbs:

I missed the air pressure gauge as well, but you should love that pink brush you got.
