• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder write-up in MCN

Another nice write-up in the Motorcycle Consumer News that I got today. Since I ride two wheelers, too, I subscribe to a few touring and adventure rider forums and find some of the remarks about us Spyder riders to be a bit narrow minded and offensive. Each time another motorcycle magazine gives the Spyder some face time it convinces me that a few more "2 wheelers" will actually consider that the Spyder ryder deserves a wave, too. :doorag:They just don't know what a fun experience they're missing.

I ride both, too (if Nancy isn't looking), and find the attitude of some of these writers to be amazing. They certainly don't know what they are missing. Sure, it is not like any other motorcycle, any more that a Yamahopper R1 is like a BMW K1200LT. Each vehicle has it own personality, and should be evaluated for what it is. Someday there will be two Spyders in our garage...if I can ever make room.

After seeing your garage, I don't think "making room" is possible, you need an addition! :D

i believe it was Motor Cyclist rag that gave the bad review of spydee. Well in this months rag under MC Mail they got heading " ITSY-BITSY SPYDER " They have 2 rebuttals
1. from Marc Pukos &
2. Bruce Brown

I see they didn't print mine> I didn't think they would as I was pretty blunt with them.

Hey BRPJunkie; I'm looking for that T-shirt. Haven't found it yet. We have our own form of therapy...2 or 3 wheels. I'd rather spend the $$$$$ on the Spyder :)

With snow flurries and 38 degrees in Michigan today, will need to live vicariously through SpyderLovers who are still riding.

I went to Lansing today, and seriously considered riding. Thought better of it when it began to spit snow. I figured it wouldn't stick, but better safe than sorry on that heavy Beemer. Thought about the Spyder to avoid those nasty falls, but the extension cord so I can use my heated vest on the Spyder hasn't arrived yet. Seems Gerbing is in the process of moving. Guess I'll live vicariously with you.

If it makes you all in the north feel better, tomorrow is going to be the only halfway decent day for :spyder: ryding all week :yikes:. 50% chance of rain every day for the rest of the week. At least it ain't snow!

A little snow flurry and some spitting sleet today but tomorrow's a riding day here, too - high in mid-30's! Then two days of rain so have to go for that mental health therapy while I can.

It doesn't bother me what gets written about the Spyder, it's just one persons opinion. The only difference is that persons opinion is printed. I've never expected every person to enjoy the Spyder, much like I don't think every motorcycle is that great. I used to own an Electraglide and my opinion is that it is one of the least comfortable bikes, but my friends who own them love theirs. They don't get mad at me for not liking them. I rode a friends R6 this weekend, and while his dad always tells me how much he doesn't like his sons bike, I absolutely loved it and would give it a good review. Bottom line is that life is too short to get upset by how someone reviews your ride.
